Retrobirds Music is a family-run workshop based in Na’alehu, at the southernmost tip of Hawai‘i, creating small-batch, handmade instruments of the highest grade.

The brand is led by second-generation luthier Tristan White, alongside his wife Sofia White. At Retrobirds, we draw from vintage design traditions, exceptional tonewoods, and a belief that instruments carry stories as much as sound.

Tristan was raised within a flourishing West Coast luthier community, shaped by generations of makers — including his father, Woodley White of White Guitars and Ukulele Pu‘uwai. That lineage continues quietly through every instrument that leaves the workshop.
